How do you teach THAT?

Funny little story. Today Hillary and I were laying out at the pool (rough life i know) and had just jumped in for a swim when a little boy, his sister and grandmother showed up. My back was to them when they walked up, but Hillary said hi to them. I turn to see who it is and the little boy (about 6 yrs old), whose name is Justin walks towards us and it goes something like this:

Justin: "Oh! How rude of me! Let me introduce myself, my name is Justin and this is my sister (something or another) and my Grandma Kat." As he's talking he walks towards us and is making eye contact and we had no idea how to respond! We felt like we were talking to someone older than us, but he was this tiny kid. Then, he says, "If you'll excuse me I'm going to put my sunscreen on then I'll come over and properly introduce myself and shake your hand."

Where did this kid come from?? I know this is a you-had-to-be-there kind of thing, but it was just so crazy. We're pretty sure after he jumped in the pool he was swimming around humming a Broadway tune....

Bizarre.

Reflections on Marriage #4

I'm always amazed at a man's confidence. Most of us women are a little lacking.....we're fat, our hair is ugly, our clothes fit terribly, and the list goes on and on. I've decided men have better self-esteem because they find it in the little every day things. However, upon discussing this with Hillary she explained my findings are not men, but just Craig. I love to share pieces of conversations that Craig and I have, mostly because of my life long quest to convince people just how much they don't know about him. I swear no one has any idea what my life is like on a daily basis....although I'm starting to think my sisters-in-law who are married to Copeland boys have some idea and of course my mother-in-law so I'm going to extend my generalizations to at least Copeland men, if not all men.

The following takes place on Sunday during Sacrament meeting while we are singing the opening him which includes the men's part.
The hymn has just ended.

Craig: "I really tore that up."
Cassie: "What?" (What in the world are you talking about now?)
Craig: "Man, I dominated that song."

Only Craig would think about just how incredible he was after singing a hymn in church along with 100 other people.
And for the record, he tore it up, but probably not how he intended!
However, I do admire his confidence, and am trying to learn a thing or two.

Yanni

K, so Craig and I went to Yanni last night and we were really excited about it, but as it turned out we had no idea how amazing it was actually going to be! It was sooooo good! It was probably the best concert I've ever been to of any genre. We definitely recommend going if you have the opportunity. The only problem is now I have to deal with Craig for the next few weeks thinking he's Yanni.

We really love it here in Florida...

Craig and I spent some time this past Saturday painting the trim on our house. As we were painting one of our neighbors drives up and asks did we notice the fox sitting near our house? Uh NO! He explains that usually when there is a fox out in the middle of the day it is rabid. Needless to say I live in fear of going outside my house now. Everytime I open the garage door or go out in the yard I'm looking around for the fox. The neighbor was also kind enough to tell us that people have been seeing bobcats in the neighborhood as well. Where do we live?? Just the day before I was tanning in the backyard and I was worried about snakes...little did I know.
P.S. We really do love it in Florida, despite the fear of rabid animal attacks.
