Alexis Elise Floyd

One of my best friends growing up (and still), Heather, was blessed with a beautiful baby girl on February 21, 2008. I wish I could have been there she's so dang cute, it makes me want one (Laura!).

This is a picture of Heather and me a few years ago, Heather's to the left of me. Sorry Heather if you don't like, I didn't have much to choose from on my computer.

MIA

And finally...the pictures everyone has been waiting for, our adorable new addition! This is Mia. Mia was my Valentine's/Birthday present from Craig, however, we didn't get her until a week ago. She is completely spoiled already and now Craig has two of us to deal with! She loves attention and cries whenever we aren't petting her. It was hard to get cute pictures because she wouldn't be still long enough, but I did my best. The only time she's still is if you are holding her. Her only imperfection (besides her slightly crossed eyes due to her siamese genes) is a congenital defect...her sternum goes inward. Eventually this could cause lung or heart problems, but we hope it's not that serious...at least I hope, I think Craig was secretly glad when the doctor suggested it could be fatal. (He didn't realize cats could live well into their teens when he let me have her) Anyways, I'm just so in love with her!

Handicapped?

This is completely inappropriate...but some of you will appreciate the humor. My dear mother, bless her heart, has a pet peeve about people parking in handicapped spots when they are, in fact, not handicapped. So, yesterday as she was out shopping alone (meaning without one her children to keep her in line) spotted a lady parking in a handicapped spot who was not handicapped, nor had anyone with her who was handicapped. My mom rolls down her window to politely remind the lady that she was not handicapped, but the lady was so UNhandicapped she was walking away so quickly my mother was too late. Well, that's not going to stop my mom! She parks the car, finds a piece of paper and pen, writes the poor lady a note and puts in under her windshield wipers. The note explains that she should not be parking there when she is not handicapped, etc. The note ends with my sweet mother's words (which she thought were very mean and would surely teach this outlaw a lesson) so...SHAME ON YOU! I only wish I could have been there to see this lady get her hate note!

Think he'll get the hint?

Is my background discrete enough to remind Craig of the upcoming holiday....?!

God be with you till we meet again...

On January 27, 2008, Gordon B. Hinckley, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints passed away. I know that everyone is blogging about this, but I'm doing it for us since I want our blog to kind of be a journal for us. President Hinckley has been a very influential man in my life. He was "my" Prophet. He's been the Prophet through the most important years of my life so far. He was my leader through the teenage and college years. He was the Prophet I followed to reach the goal of my marriage in the temple. I never knew the Church was more true than when I heard this man speak. I had the privilege to be in his presence a few times and I will never forget the power of those experiences. His example to the members of the Church and to the entire world will always be remembered. I was so saddened to hear the news of his passing, but as many I rejoiced knowing he was again with his wife. I imagine he is meeting many people now that he has long admired. I believe he was such a successful leader, not only because he was called of God, but because of his sense of humor that made him such a real and likable person. I know that I'm one of many when I say he touched me life and that I truly loved and admired him. We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet!

I can't help but add more pictures of my two nieces Tasia and Lexi because they are so dang cute. Maybe if their parents would hurry up and make a blog I would stop stealing! :)

Christmas Vacation 2007

December 20th was Trevor's 18th Birthday, these are some of his friends who were over for the party! Trevor's in the front in the white shirt. The boy in the red shirt is my nephew Jaron (17)

This is my newest nephew, Hunter (8 months). This is the first time I got to meet him and he didn't particularly care for strangers. You can't tell from the picture, but he has giant blue eyes...they are so pretty!

These are two of my nieces Taylor (10) and Brandi (8). Taylor is my brother Mark's daughter and Brandi is my brother Todd's daughter. It was so fun to get to spend time with them while at home.

Most of you know that I want a cat so bad and Craig supposedly hates cats. I caught this on camera at my parents house! And you can't tell from the picture, but he was petting Checkers II! I have to admit though, this was towards the end of our trip. It took them some time to warm up to each other.

The last few days of our vacation we went to Dallas to visit Craig's sister and her family and our friends Todd and Abby. We had a lot of fun with Amy, Jeff, and their two boys. (I wish i had taken more pics!) We celebrated New Years with Todd and Abby. Obviously, Craig's New Years Resolution was not to take better pictures, but at least he looks happy. Right?

Unfortunately, I didn't take enough pictures! We had a lot of fun though spending time with family and friends. I got to hang out with all my friends from high school and see my cousin who was home from Iraq. We ate tons of good food, Craig claims to have gained 10 lbs. We even got to eat some deer steak, yum!
