Eddie and Michelle

Craig's friend (Eddie) from his mission and wife Michelle and little boy Carson were in Orlando for the week and we met them in Daytona to hang out. I was so glad to finally meet this Eddy Craig's always talking to! We went to the beach but it was a nasty day and super crowded. Somehow we ended up at the home of Daytona 500! Everytime Craig asked an employee a question they acted like he was an idiot...we don't know much about nascar.
Anyways, we're so glad we got to see you guys and wish it could have been for longer!

Cruise March 2009

Our cruise departed on Friday, but we headed down Thursday for an extra night of fun. Josh and Kendra flew in at midnight so it was my job to find us a hotel. The requirments were cheap, and a good location between the Fort Lauderdale airport and the port in Miami. I met the requirments, but trust me it was not above and beyond. Online it was called The Holiday Golden Glades Boutique Hotel. Charming. What that translates to is used to be Holiday Inn. If you look closely at the picture you can see the "Inn" scratched off. After a good night's sleep we were off!We heard about the unlimited food available so we showed up at dinner ready to get our money's worth! The lady taking this picture asked if Craig was Josh's son?! And no, no one had anything to drink yet. The rest of the trip at dinner we referred to Josh as Dad.The second day we stopped at Nassau in the Bahamas.A friend of Josh and Craig's hooked us up with some free passes to Atlantis for the day. There's a water park, aquarium and the best lazy river ever! The ride over left something to be desired! I'm pretty sure they don't take the same driving test we do down there! We had to wait awhile for the our "connection" to get us into the resort. Needless to say, as much as we practiced we're never going to be asked to kiss for a movie! What is wrong with us?!An added bonus no one told me about was this little taste of heaven! Look at all the bags! Notice I'm the first one in.Trust me, this is a big chair after all we've eaten at this point.Right about here Craig gets yelled at to put the starfish back in the water, it can't breath! I pretended I wasn't with him and just took a picture of the crazy guy.The day went by too fast, time to go back and get ready for dinner! We were starved! As I was standing in the hallway waiting for Kendra, a qustionable lady walks by and says, "you look sexy in those heals, I sure hope he appreciates it". About that time Kendra opens the door and the lady looks at us both and says, "or SHE" and continues down the hallwaybefore I had a chance to say anything!Later that night at a show. (The other couple is Kendra's sister and husband)The last evening there, we could see the space shuttle leaving Florida. The funny thing is last time Josh and Kendra visited us in Florida there was a shuttle leaving and we tried so hard to see it but it was too cloudy. It was such a big deal so when we found out this one was taking off (about 8 minutes before it did) we couldn't wait for them to see. Unfortunately, we weren't together and they missed it again. We raced to the top of the ship to see it and there were 15 or so people on the deck with us. We start to see the shuttle and everyone is taking picture and this kid (about 16, with piercings and long black hair) looks at us with wide eyes and says, "What the hell IS that??" It was SOOOOOOO funny!!! He had no idea what was going on, he just happened to be hanging out up there. But he was nice enough to snap a picture for us.Comedy show, where once again it was commented on how young Craig looks. A couple sitting with us stared in disbelief that were married and said we looked 12! If only! When we returned Monday morning we were determined to have fun right up until Josh and Kendra had to fly out at 5 that evening. So, we took off for the Everglades!Craig INSISTED I hold this thing and even paid to take a picture! This was our tour guide, I don't remember his name, but we'll call him Bubba. He was really funn. He kept stopping the boat to tell a joke and as soon as he finished he'd take off again. Chicken's in the Everglades...who knew?

Bubba was so excited about these baby gators, apparently it's very rare to see gator's this young in the wild.

We had so much fun and can't wait to see Josh and Kendra in June for their wedding!! We're ready for our next cruise already.

Lola Tate Barlow

I'm late posting these, but Congratulations Barlow Family on your new addition! Lola was born on Thursday March 5, 2009, I didn't get to see our new niece until the next day, but she was well worth the wait!

By the way Amy, the expression she's making in this picture looks just like Isaac!

I love when friends send me great jokes like this one...

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.
The first man had married a woman from Texas and told her that she was going to do dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple d ays, but on the third day he came home to a clean house and dishes washed and put away.
The second man had married a woman from Nebraska. He had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.
The third man had married a girl from Louisiana . He told her that her duties were to keep the house clean, dishes washed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, just enough to fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher.

First trip to my new dentist

Today I was supposed to go in to see the dentist for treatment planning. Upon arrival my dentist informed me that he was actually going to do a restoration. AAAGGGGHHHH. I hate having dental work done! Fortunately my dentist was excellent and then he took me to lunch, did I mention he was HOT?. Don't tell Craig *wink wink*.

Sweetheart Tag

I've decided to sit up late at night and catch up on people....blogs, facebook, emails, etc. I stumbled across Amy's blog where she had tagged me for the Sweetheart Tag so here goes!

1. Where did you first meet your hubby?

The first time I saw Craig was in Wal-Mart in Orem, Utah fall of 2003. We were each with our roommates and my roommate knew his and we were all introduced. I think later that night he and his roommates came over for dessert. He was wearing a sweatshirt and backwards hat...I still like when he wears that because of the memories.

2. What do you remember most about him?

In the beginning he seemed quiet (that didn't hold to be true). I could tell he was smart and worked hard in school. But let's be honest...all my roommates and I could talk about were those big lips! I'm pretty sure we even called him Lips in secret.

3. Who asked out who first?

Craig made attempts to "hang out" but I had a boyfriend or for whatever reason it never happened. In fall of 2005, one Friday night I texted him and said....So, what are we going to do tonight? I believe, sadly, that was our first date.

4. What did you do on your first date?

We went to Sonic and got shakes and hung out at his place. It must not have been as lame as it sounds since the rest is history!

5. What was your favorite thing to do together while dating?

We watched a couple of seasons of Lost. We listened to a lot of Red Hot Chili Peppers. We ate Snowies. We went to the gym. On Sundays, we always went to Alpine to hang out with Kyle and Kim and Kevin and Angie (and families). We entertained ourselves with like 8 pages of questions that our Bishop's wife gave us to ask each bther before getting married! I'm not sure how much it helped us, but we were really entertained by it.

6. When was your first kiss with your sweetheart?

Let's just say it was long before our "first date" and I'm not answering any questions about that! Let's not dwell in the past....:)

7. Who said "I love you" first?

As we were planning our futures, who would move where and do what, and after Craig mentioned to the Bishop we were thinking about getting married....i suggested that maybe he should think about loving me first. So, one night it goes something like this:

Craig (from the living room couch of my apartment): Hey!?

Cassie (from the kitchen): Yeah?

Craig: I think I might love you and we should get married in August. (this is probably May, and said in one breath)

Cassie (approaching living room from kitchen): You THINK you MIGHT love me?

Let's just say as much as I loved him, I didn't have high hopes for my future being "romantic". LOL, although he has proved me wrong from time to time.

8. When did you first realize you loved him?

Wow, these questions are getting harder. I didn't read ahead before I started. I think Craig and I fell in love very quickly when we started dating...we already knew each other pretty well and had both learned a lot about what we wanted in a companion and what was most important. I think he would agree from the moment we started dating we knew where it was going. I don't remember a "moment", but I just remember everything falling into place very naturally. Our feelings for each other had built over time before we ever dated and when we finally did it was just like okay, finally we figured this out! So...i guess my answer is i don't know, but it didn't take long!

9. How did he propose?

He definitely made up for the lack of romance from when he said i love you! We went to a very romantic dinner (there's a whole story behind that) and I wondered if he was going to because he was gazing at me all through dinner, but he never did. So we left dinner and were stopping back by his brothers house...we walked around to the back of the house to go in and there were candles everywhere!! The setting was so beautiful....their backyard looks at the mountains and there was a little waterfall behind the house with candles all over the rocks. There was tables with red roses and white (roses?) flowers everywhere. We had a delicious dessert and sparkling grape juice. And most importantly...the ring! He got down on one knee (traditional, but I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!) and said the sweetest things he had ever said up to that point...and of course i said YES!

10. What do you remember about your wedding day?

Madness! We were moving and getting married in the same day....wouldn't recommend that. The most calming (and best) part was the morning where we went to the Temple together. Once we arrived we didn't have a lot of time to sit and think, I'm pretty sure we were the last ones to arrive and everyone was in the sealing room waiting. I remember Craig was holding my hand so tightly, like he thought I might try to run and he wasn't going to let me. There's nothing like walking in hand in hand with those close to you gathered around filled with support and love. The rest of our day was filled with packing and pictures, but we'll never forget those feelings in the Temple. That night we had a reception in the same backyard where he proposed! We stayed at The Marriot in downtown Provo, before leaving the next day on our honeymoon/move across country.
